A practical, rewarding and creative
alternative empowers caring people to make a difference through
cooperation.
July 30, 2004. International
Simultaneous Policy Organisation (ISPO) and Project NatureConnect
(PNC) have joined together on the Web to promote cooperation
and consensus in personal and global relationships in order to
break down the barriers to solving world problems
The site, Towards the
Improvement of Personal and Global Relationships is found
at http://www.ecopsych.com/ispopnchomepage.html.
It is designed to empower individuals and groups to work together
for saner and more supportive interactions between people, nations
and the environment. It tackles the monumental socio-political
roadblocks obstructing the way to both global health
and personal well-being. Simultaneous Policy addresses
the competition that pervades economic systems and results in
the exploitation and degradation of culture, community and planet.
Project NatureConnect addresses our need for a practical,
nature-connected, learning tool to help us enlist the healing
and restorative powers of nature to deal with our dysfunctions,
find consensus and act cooperatively.
Simultaneous Policy was developed by
British businessman John Bunzl to encourage individual voters
worldwide to use their voices in consensus to solve local
and global environmental, social justice and health problems. He
advocates constructive cooperation and consensus over destructive
competition as the fundamental shift necessary to bring about
change. This is accomplished through a world democratic
governance in which all nations act on the wishes of
their respective peoples. The Simultaneous Policy strategy produces
deep democracy over "pseudo democracy." It helps the
public regain control of global financial markets and corporations
and supports the conditions necessary for a global society
and economy more in tune with Nature and the needs of human nature.
Bunzl says "Instead of voting for the largely indistinguishable
and redundant policies of political parties, by adopting SP we're
taking global policy out of the their hands and instead creating
our own policy."
In Project NatureConnect, ecological-psychologist,
Michael Cohen, brings more than fifty years of natural systems
research and experience to the equation. His work has
long focused on helping individuals reclaim the inherently fulfilling
and healing experience with life that comes from consensus
relationships with nature.including human nature. He has developed
a system of learning in which both cognitive understanding
and sensory awareness of nature's ways bring about a
fundamental feeling of personal well-being and belonging that supports the
web of life within which we are all inextricably graced.
Reconnecting with nature thoughtfully reinforces cooperation
over competition; it leads to waste-free behavior, enhances emotional
and psychological well-being, and supports a heightened moral/ethical/spiritual
view of all life.
The Simultaneous Policy concept
was initiated by John Bunzl in 1998; he since founded the International
Simultaneous Policy Organisation (ISPO) to campaign for the adoption
of SP around the world. He is author of The Simultaneous Policy - An Insider's
Guide to Saving Humanity and the Planet, and
has given lectures and workshops on SP to many conferences, including
to the World Trade Organization, the World Social Forum and the
Schumacher Society. As well as being an activist, Bunzl
is a company director of a business specializing in raw materials
and specialty papers. He was born in 1957 in London where he
lives with his wife and three children.
Dr. Michael J. Cohen is the founder and award winning director
of Project NatureConnect (PNC), a workshop and internet training
and degree program for socially responsible environmental education
and psychology at the Institute of Global Education. He is
the author of many books, including: How Nature Works;
Well Mind, Well Earth; Reconnecting with Nature;
and most recently, The Web of Life Imperative: Regenerative
Ecopsychology Techniques That Help People Think in Balance With
Natural Systems. Cohen lives and works on San Juan Island,
Washington, in the very northwest corner of the United States.
The cooperation between of
Simultaneous Policy and Project NatureConnect presents
a unique consensus-building strategy that stops governments and
individuals from behaving irresponsibly. It's based on personal
caring about the state of the world and it exposes all those
seeking to exacerbate, or hide behind, competition between people,
nations and the environment. SP helps solve the problems of corporate
globalisation by offering win-win solutions for voters, civil
society activists, and politicians. PNC helps solve the problems
of personal distress and dysfunction that prevent the formation
of cooperative relationships by offering tried and true methods
of connecting to nature's regenerative and nurturing systems.
In the combination of PNC with SP, civil society has the potential
to lead governments, not the other way round.
"The full truth is,
that in nature, the fittest are those that are the most cooperative,
those that create the strongest and greatest number of diverse,
mutually beneficial, consenting relationships with their neighbors.
Nature self-creates in cooperation, beauty and diversity without
producing garbage; it is a natural consensus where nothing is
left out, everything belongs. As part of nature we inherit
the ability to think and operate the same way."
--Michael J. Cohen
"Simultaneous Policy transcends party-political differences
and allows voters, NGOs, politicians and governments to adopt
it without risking their respective personal or national interests.
It represents political action of a kind not yet seen: a New
Politics of cooperation and community which transcends both the
divisions of conventional party politics and the dilemmas of
maintaining international competitiveness."
--John Bunzl
Susan Chernack McElroy, New York Times best selling author of
Healing With Animals. says about the complimentary programs:
"New and practical, this environmentally sound social technology
partnership helps caring people combine nature's restorative
powers with local and internationally informed thinking. It helps
us increase understanding, cooperative relationships and healing
within and around us."
Emilio Jos Chaves researcher in Economics and Sustainable Development, says
about Simultaneous Policy: "In a time where so many urgent
symptoms claim our attention, it seems there is not enough courage
nor time to address the fundamental roots of global present problems
and viable roads to face them. The Simultaneous Policy is a simple,
peaceful, low-risk and clear invitation for humankind to jump
- in two steps - from a present spiral headed toward auto-destruction,
into another one oriented toward life, cooperation and spiritual
growth. To share is to live."
Janet Thomas, author of The Battle in Seattle: The Story Behind
and Beyond the WTO Demonstrations, says about the Simultaneous
Policy and Project NatureConnect relationship: "This
is a critically needed partnership that links personal fulfillment
with global responsibility. A changing public policy will only
develop a sustaining grace if the individuals of this world know
and feel themselves in relationship with nature's grace. Trusting
and deepening our personal relationship with the natural world
is the beginning of becoming a true global citizen. It is the
way transformative change will happen. SP and PNC are doable,
easily accessible, affordable and empowering. Best of all, they
are available."
