Why I wrote this book

Together with experienced co-authors I produced The Web of Life Imperative because, in 1945, as a camp counselor, I became aware that the essence of my being was an attraction to enjoy mutually supportive relationships with people and the natural world. I painstakingly stayed on this path and attained my Ed.D. in psychologically based natural science education.

Twenty years later while in the wild depths of Grand Canyon National Park, a freak thunderstorm made me aware that the essence of every member and energy of the plant, animal and mineral kingdom is attracted to building mutually supportive relationships. I became distinctly conscious that this 'attractiveness' is something I and our living planet hold in common. We share natural systems that ingeniously build their balanced perfection through attractions.

In this book the co-authors and I offer a unique process I invented and teach, a simple tool that enables people to make genuine sensory contact with natural system attractions. The process helps people become thoughtfully and sensuously aware of the often-unnoticed attraction essence of natural relationships. This helps us unite the isolated cubbyholes of knowledge and belief that deteriorate our integrity, health and nature.

By learning to think with our attraction connections to natural systems that thrive in ourselves, others and nature, we improve our health and relationships, reduce our troubles and increase our joy. This daily satisfies the essence of my being that I discovered as a camp counselor.
