SENSING AND FEELING WEBSTRINGS

A. The Experience

As described in the readings in Part 1, natural sensory attractions are strings of the web of life. Now, do this Earthday activity. Then, share with your interact group the natural attractions you discover. Identify them as being sensory web strings.

It is optional to do the links found on reference pages, only do them if you have time and interest.

Elements of your webstring power statement:

The Earthday Activity statement "My experience in nature shows me I am a person who gets good feelings from:" is significant because it contains the following trustable relationship building elements:

 My  sense of self, being and connectedness
 experience  multiwebstring, hands-on, trustable information in the moment.
 in nature  the natural webstringworld itself, not an indoor or disconnected, story is the source of this information.
 shows me  reasonable story and sensory experience, balance and validation.
 I am  self-identity, beingness, webstring registration, particpatory
 a person who gets  human identity, intactiveness, openness, connnectedness, natural functioning, ability to register webstrings
 good feelings indicates conscious contact with webstring origins in nature that signal connectedness and resonance with the web of life.
 from willingness to be open to webstring signals in nature

Summary Option: You are encouraged to do the following evaluation activity:

Below is a summary statement about this page followed by an agreement indicator. For future reference and growth, read the SUMMARY and then mark on the indicator the degree of agreement you have with the statement. Record and retain your score on a separate piece of paper.

SUMMARY R: Natural senses and feelings are strings of the web of life that can psychologically help a person make conscious sensory connections with the web.

OPTIONAL: On a piece of paper, record the SUMMARY letter above (U) along with the number (below) that indicates your agreement with the summary statement.

Visit the Activity Archives. Note what postings there attract you. Can you identify natural sensory attractions as web strings in these writings?

SPECIAL NOTICE
At this point you probably have a good idea if you will be able to finish this course. If you have not yet done so, please now send a self addressed stamped envelope to Button Order, NatureConnect, P. O. Box 1605, Friday Harbor, WA 98250. We will send you a special lapel pin for use in Activity 5, the Summary Activity. If you send for it now, you will have it by that time.

B. Supportive Reading:

Read, find and share what is attractive to you this short letter on the web. It shares a professional affirmation of the reconnecting with nature process.

C) Thoughtful verbalization:

Start your post to the group with the Subject (GROUP NAME OR NUMBER)_________: PART 1, YOUR NAME, so that other course members and readers can identify it, read it, and share their thoughts and feelings about your experiences with this page and vice versa.

Submit your experiences, thoughts and feelings from the material on this page to the group along with the following Seven Interact Catalysts:

1) a general description of how you did the activity and what happened, along with quotes you like from the readings and how they added meaning to the experience.

2) the three most important things you learned from the chapter and webstring connections;

3) how would you feel about having the webstring attractions you experienced in the activity taken away from you?

4) whether or not the activity enhanced your sense of self-worth and your trustfulness of nature;

5) the part of you, if any, the activity identified or re-educated inside or outside of you;

6) your reactions to what you found attractive in the postings you read from the other group members. Be sure to save the interact postings of yourself and others that are attractive to you so that you can refer to them and quote them in the final paper for this course.

7) What value, if any, was there to doing the Summary Option (If you did it.)

The use of the Seven Interact Catalysts will enhance your learning experience and that of the others in the course as well.

OPTIONAL READING:

If you have the book Reconnecting With Nature, Read Chapter 9 to understand the ecopsychology of community relationships. (Do not do the activity located there)

Dreamtime:

Get a night's sleep before doing the next activity. Note, upon awakening, whether any changes have occurred with respect to your outlook or the way you feel.
