360-378-6313:At the Institute of Global Education, Dr. Michael Cohen,* Director of Integrated Ecology, insists that all systems and their parts, including Earth, communicate in some way otherwise they could not be systems. Instead they would be "detached separates" and act accordingly, which they don't.
Cohen says, "Research here demonstrates that the natural relationships that organize and sustain our planetary home in a balance are a distinct intelligence that has its own language. At the Institute we call that language 'Natural Attraction.' We learn and teach it as a language art as well as a behavioral science."
Learning Nature's language is vital for throughout the eons communication through Natural Attraction has been critical for the survival of every natural system and being, including the global life community and humanity."
Cohen, an Applied Ecopsychologist, reports that along with the rest of Nature, contemporary people inherit the ability to communicate in Natural Attraction.
Our challenge is that in our society we do not educate ourselves to be literate in Nature's language even though it lies within us.
To tackle this omission the Institute has developed a new, readily available Nature connected learning process. Its use enables any person to master communicating in Natural Attraction and reap many personal and environmental health and knowledge benefits.
In his book "Reconnecting With Nature," (Ecopress) Cohen shows that literacy in Natural Attraction empowers individuals or groups to create unique sensory moments in natural areas, backyard or back country.
Cohen reports that these connective periods make space for the intelligent peace, beauty, and unifying energy of Nature to communicate in its Natural Attraction language.
We mostly think in words. Sensory contacts with Nature enable people to translate Natural Attraction into their native tongue and thereby think in Nature's peaceful ways and sustainability wisdom.
The contacts are peak experiences, special times when we can safely allow nature to touch and recycle our destructive thinking.
Cohen, an environmental education veteran, says, "It is essential for sustainable survival and peace that we learn to be literate in Natural Attraction and know Nature's ways."
Nature seldom displays or causes the major problems that trouble us. Abandonment, pollution, war, abusiveness, mental illness, addiction and environmental deterioration are absent in natural systems.
Speaking and thinking in Natural Attraction heightens a person's sensory awareness; it joyfully enables them to make more sense.
People literate in Natural Attraction can easily teach the process of learning it to others. This increases the enjoyment of sane, responsible relationships for all concerned. It allows Nature to safely help us heal what ails us.
