Anonymous Project NatureConnect Practioner Report: "I camped in the wood in the small shelter that I’d made with my niece 20 days ago. I took only a sleeping bag, some food and water. The power of engaging in coaching sessions in a setting like this is confirmed for me based on the experience I have had. As I work towards creating retreats for people to attend part of them have to be in the woods wherever I run a retreat. This leads me to think about the practical side of the legalities for this and clarify my path ahead in my work. I have now fully established myself online using my communications with trees as one of my unique selling points. Create my signature talk that will enable me to speak to people in person or in teleseminars. Create sustainable income from the online stuff to support the development of retreats. Use online program and signature talk to sell retreats (which will be stand alone but also part of high-end coaching program). Funny how this is more in line with my original thinking when I first started out creating my work. The fact that I am moving closer and closer to my inner dream is confirmation that I’m going where I need to. Not attracted to walking I lay down on the earth in the middle of the woods. Everything is bright blooming green. Shutting my eyes I was aware of the bird song and how it became quieter as night fell. My sense of connection was activated both by my close connection to the earth and also for what these woods mean to me. Earth supported me and I supported earth. The crackling of the fire cast a wave of warmth over my body. The smell of smoke filled my nostrils (On asking permission for a fire, worried about scorching the earth I got the humorous response – there are acres of my body scorched mindlessly everyday and you worry about one small spot! Bless you, for this is a scar I will wear with pride for it is sacred). The absence of wind was noted. I lay and drifted in and out of sleep with my sense of dreaming activated. Dreaming of lying there and hearing voices in the night approaching where I was and hoping that the fire wouldn’t be noticed and of being unable to move and communicate with the people who approached because I was too deeply attracted to sleeping. As my time continued there – I lay there for over 12 hours – I lost track of the senses as they arose as I became just a sensory organism experiencing all 52 senses at various points throughout the night. As morning dawned I realized that power is deep and still like the woods not like the images you receive about what power is. I felt peace vibrate throughout my body. In contrast lying in my bed in the same way is not fulfilling. I am disconnected even though the cat lies to my left. The peace and power that was present in the woods is still within me but it is not available without. The clock ticks reminding me of the insanity of measuring time like this and makes a poor substitute for bird song, which occasionally can be heard through the closed window. My body still vibrates with the energy of the previous experience but there is pressure at the front of my head. I am conscious of many senses just like before but they seem dull and less vibrant. I feel the beginnings of imbalance stir in my body through this disconnection and understand why we subconsciously numb our senses. We have no choice if we are to survive in a disconnected world. I have learned to hold the vision of deep connect for the world and to carefully give myself and my clients a structure through which to ask permission, enter and then relinquish the pure and integrated moments. They are always available. And as an organism living in a duality.. we have need to learn to balance both experiences."
