Field Report: an online program
participant, shares his results from a nature-connecting activity.
CONNECTING WITH EARTH'S
WHOLENESS
At my intern site there is a new large lake to explore. I have
found a peaceful and attractive secluded inlet. I have now gone
to this area several times. I have asked this area to participate
with me on this exercise. It seems to continue to invite me as
it remains calm as the rest of the lake becomes disturbed by
the afternoon wind.
I walked on the beach of this
part of the lake and engaged in the exercise of wiping my nature
disconnected stories away. Some of these stories have become
so ingrained that I have had to shake my head and rid my self
of these stories several times as they kept coming back. I was
able to allow the sense of nature to become me and inside of
me, and when this happened I felt I was part of the area around
me; the lake, the beach, the warm air, the birds that flew around
and the sweet smelling pine trees. Shortly the strength of the
wrangled new brain stories kept coming back, so I had to repeat
the exercise many times.
I found that instead of struggling
with this part of the exercise, I could let the new brain stories
creep up, but just acknowledge them and let them dissipate and
let the nature webstring senses replace them. I was able to become
the environment easier and easier each time I didn't' struggle
and just became at one with the natural setting. When wrangled
thoughts did come up and stayed, I felt uncomfortable, because
they attracted me to false ideas I have been made to believe
as truth, but have found out to be false.
The struggle of being pulled
from a nature-connected to a nature-disconnected position is
frustrating, but has taught me that there is a true reality but
I need to be aware of the mass social hypnotism of the false
realities of disconnection
I discovered that relaxing
and not fighting to repress new brain stories and just letting
go of these new brain story thoughts allows for nature feelings,
connections, realities to come to the surface. By morphing with
the environment I was able to not only able to become part of
it, I was also able to project that feeling beyond the immediate
area. In connecting with the boulders in the lake, I was able
to connect with the earth, by connecting with the water; I was
able to connect with water in other areas such as the oceans,
rivers and other lakes, by connecting with the air I was able
to connect with the atmosphere in other areas I was able to imagine.
I found that the wrangled reality
is so strong it becomes real, as the true reality is seldom experienced
and becomes unreal. Reversing this awareness is the fight we
must fight. It is the savior of the mind and the savior of the
earth.
I observed that by practicing
the ability to allow nature to come into me and be part of me
and me it produces a natural and good feeling. By becoming part
of nature I know the whole of nature. Like a hologram, by knowing
or seeing a fragment of a holographic object, you can know the
whole object. I feel the same with nature. If I open totally
to it I feel ecstatic while remaining calm, observant and non
judgmental of the possibilities available in this natural state.
I would not be willing to give
up this connection or ability because it would be turning a blind
eye to the truth. It would be wiping out a life time of searching,
experiencing and connecting. It would be living a lie, that of
the total disconnection experience. This would cause a stressful
and depressed feeling, and would leave me frustrated because
at some deep level I would still know/sense/feel that this disconnection
story wasn't the answer.
This activity has a great impact
on my sense of self worth. I have allowed nature connections
to create a new way of creating knowledge and truth. This makes
me feel more real.
Act now.
