The Nature of Subconscious Relationships:

Sharon, an adult woman, had an adverse reaction to a blue block of wood she had selected, sight unseen, from a bag of wooden objects. She blindly selected the block because she was attracted to its shape and smoothness when she groped and explored it by touch. At first she did not know why she didn't like it when she saw it (g/o). In time, she realized it was a subconscious reaction. The block was same shade of blue as the walls of her room where, as a child, she had been molested.

The existence of subconscious memories and their effect on our daily relationships has long been established. Although these memories seldom enter our rational thinking, the hurt feelings attached to them often do.

Without awareness of the subconscious source of our discontents, we have no choice but to relate in hurt ways to ourselves, each other and the environment. Oblivious to the reconciling knowledge held in our subconscious, even in safe settings we often feel vulnerable, frightened or angry (g/o). This produces the stress, depression. and addictivness all too common in our lives.

The sense of consciousness, one of the 53 senses we inherit from nature, is like a movie screen in our mentality. We are only aware of things that have enough energy and support to appear on the screen. Until a thought, feeling, image, or memory have the energy/support to appear on our screen of consciousness, they lie out of our awareness in the subconscious.

As expressed earlier, in our excessively nature separated civilization, our time indoors injuriously bulldozes our vital relationship with nature out of our consciousness (g/o).

Unlike any other species or nature connected society, on average, less than 12 out of the 540,000 hours of our lifetime is spent in conscious sensory contact with the natural environment. This is similar to the unnoticeable effect of a drop of ink placed in a swimming pool. The process by which we learn to relate does not insist that our thinking seek the expert old brain knowledge, feelings and values nature within and around us can provide when we reconnect them.

SUMMARY C:
A thought, feeling, or memory that is not supported enough to enter our awareness is omitted from our conscious thinking. It may, however, on a feeling level, subconsciously affect our relationships.

OPTIONAL: On a piece of paper, record the SUMMARY letter above (A: B: C, etc.) along with the numbers (below) that indicate your amount of agreement with the summary statement a) as a stated truth (1-10) and b) as a 0-100 % percentage of your daily time that you think you practice this truth. Note how you feel about the difference, if there is one, between your a-score and b-score.
