WEB OF LIFE ATTRACTIONS: THE
SCIENCE OF NATURAL SENSES STRENGTHENS MY IDENTITY How
synchronous to do this activity the day after summer solstice. There is
a very special appreciation of the sun up here in the north country and
the days are now very long and bright. It is only fully dark for a few
hours each night. I
went to a beautiful place adjacent to our small campus. Our campus is
located on a hill that is nice because it is somewhat separate from the
city. It is a small somewhat manicured area (not unlike a Zen rock
garden) with green grass and several boulders and surrounded for the
most part by beautiful big trees. It is a very open area with a
fabulous view of downtown in the distance.
Consent
for me to relate to this area was granted through many webstring
attraction sensitivities that I registered: ants crawling on the ground
beneath my feet (using senses of motion, community, consciousness);
leaves fluttering in the wind (senses of motion, color, mood, sound,
light); the touch of the breeze on the skin of my neck and arms (senses
of touch, temperature, pressure); the feel (more like the caress) of
warm sun of my face (sense of temperature, touch); the sense of space -
I
was attracted to this open area (which I hadn't visited before for this
course), because I needed space - so I followed my natural attraction
for space (even though I don't think I was consciously aware of
it);
beautiful bird song among the trees (senses of sound, community,
distance); the taste of my tea (with milk and honey) which is my
"comfort" food of choice these days (senses of taste, relaxation); the
tall green pine trees (sense of form, color, distance); the boulders,
smaller rocks and the bed of rocks nearby - some of the boulders had
striations from glaciation many years ago (senses of form, color,
time); the high cirrus clouds in the blue sky (senses of form,
distance, color, temperature, pressure, gravity); the wonderful,
expansive view of downtown Whitehorse (this small example of
tropicmaking culture) - it didn't seem to bother me to have this in my
field of view. I viewed it without judgement. It just was. I felt I was
in a safe place and from this vantage point and perspective, I looked
out at tropicmaking and it's effects. I could see it clearly.
There
were other attractions, such as the air itself which I appreciated very
much. My sense of distance was very strong as I was attracted to the
expansive view but also the small movements of ants just inches away! I
took time to thank all of these attractions and sensations. And I
realized that since I have been taking Webstring Model courses and
really putting a lot into them, a new identity has been forming.
Perhaps it is more accurate to say that my real self is being uncovered
or excavated and I am (re)discovering this self. From this activity
(and others) I am (re)learning/realizing that: I
am a man who feels at home in nature. There, I feel at peace and fully
myself. My sensory capabilities are growing significantly. I am
changing. Stories I have lived by are falling away. Destructive
authorities within and around me are being re-educated
For
too long, I have clung to an identity in the world of my
culture/society. I have defined myself there in order to survive. But
now, it feels like I am emerging from a cocoon (sense #50). A new "me"
is in the process of emerging and to describe this, I will borrow from
another course because I cannot say it any better right now: "I am
affinities. I am attraction relationships. I am naturally intelligent,
I am a desire to be by supporting life".

"Human
behavior is rooted most deeply in nature's intentions and desire. The
rhythms of nature underlie all of human interaction: religious
traditions, economic systems, cultural and political organization. When
these human forms betray the natural psychic pulse, people and
societies get sick, nature is exploited and entire species are
threatened." -Stephen
Aizenstat
In
industrial society our excessively nature-separated lives mold us to
betray the natural psychic pulse. We learn to block from our thinking
over 98 percent of the wise sensory callings and fulfillments we
normally share with natural systems and their eons of experience. Our
subconscious hurt and frustration from the severed disconnection of
these senses underlies our greatest troubles. -Michael
J. Cohen
Benefit
from learning to enhance the natural psychic pulse within and around
us. Add the sensory ecoscience of Organic Psychology to
your life and livelihood. |
