I watched with fascination as the butterflies danced in the breeze or hung in solid clumps to the branches. At first, I felt like an observer, trespassing a sacred ground when a pair of butterflys landed right next to me, completely unaware of my presence, they were getting it on right there in plain site. I was very close to them when I realized that the butterflies and myself were at once occupying the same identical space in time together. They were obviously enjoying their moment and I was enjoying being there feeling more like a participant rather than just an observer. I am no different from the butterflies seeking a safe place to live, eat and re-create. It felt safe and protected in the forest What I found significant about that moment was that our connection to Nature is so basic and natural that we don't have to study it, it just is. I may feel at first disconnected because I've been indoors for so long, but after letting my senses awaken to the attractions, I felt more alive and accepted. I want to be known for who I am not what I do so my lesson is beingness and releasing my attachments to what I accomplish and feel more alive. Later that day I watched a sunset on the beach, all was peaceful, there was some mist and the air was cool. The sky turned from bright orange to pink to a deep purple. I just participated in it. No words, It was peaceful, balanced as 2+2=4, no need to learn it, I just know it. Naming streets after birds reminds me of how much of Nature has been destroyed by development, they bulldoze a natural area covered in pine trees for instance then call the development Big Pines, but there are no more pines. Words are so powerful, they have energy and they can be used to influence others for good or bad. It's important to listen to words and hear the meaning and intention behind them. To think for ourselves and to trust our feeling instincts and intuition over what others tell us is truth. We've been so misled to believe in non-truths, kept from our true nature, it is time to reconnect and claim what is our birthright. The lesson learned by tied baby elephant not trying to escape as an untied adult is the same for us; we are chained by the stories told to us by society. If we are told money is evil and people who have money must be dishonest, then we will live without much money in our lives, but it isn't a fact that money is evil, in fact, money enables us to live the life we want to live.
