The activities that I have been doing in course have made me listen to nature, and even though nature does not speak in human voice nor does it have a human language, what I have learned is how to understand and trust the wordless message of natural systems within myself, others and the environment
This Organic Psychology approach teaches enables us to see things as they really are, not as it is in our biased socialized mind or thoughts, or as it assumed. In this work the distortions of thinking that we as parents and teachers have become used to can be reversed. Indeed this is a much needed homeschool skill, an essence of why I homeschool.
I would much rather sit outside in my garden and talk to the trees than writing about the experiences of these past weeks, what they have meant to me, the changes they have caused in me, the journey I took with others whom I have not met but seem to feel I know in a personal way by my interacting with a group energy. That energy was perhaps borne of wanting to go on in my life to the thoughts and feelings and new doors that seem to have opened out by my participating in this meditation with nature, in communicating and understanding the truth with no language but the language of the heart.
I read this from one of my online classmates, Sandy:
"I am attracted to this tree because it stands a little apart; it's a great destination, it has a lovely shape and color; I like the curved nature of its branches and its seemingly soft pine needles.
I like myself because I stand a little apart; I am a great destination; I have a lovely shape and color (!); I like my curved branches and seemingly soft needles."
I have tears in my eyes, I hardly understand why, I feel as if I can see Sandy now, and I can feel her essence, her beauty as she stand a little apart. She mirrors something within me.I loved this exercise, it made me realise how we recognise that which is in us by what we see in others, in flowers in plants in animals and places and other people.
This activity has been with me since I did it, I have pondered over my emotions, I have sorted out those which were not reflective of what was real, I have seen myself in how I feel about others. I have understood my natural self a little bit more than before and, in understanding myself more, I understand other people more and I am more responsive to their needs.
