The Project NatureConnect
Graduate Webstring Support Group Cooperative (GWSG)
GWSG is a cost effective cooperative of Greenwich University Applied
Ecopsychology graduate students that:
- stabilizes tuitions,
- helps obtain degree and course waivers or equivilency,
- mentors and helps teach required coursework,
- provides support to its members as needed,
- learns and teaches how to establish the Natural Systems Thinking Process
by learning and teaching it.
- provides fascinating, accredited internships and study opportunities.
- is open to all interested degree program students who have completed
the Orientation Course ECO 500, Psychological Elements of Global Citizenship.
General Information:
If you are considering the Degree Program at Greenwich University, we
invite you to join GWSG and enjoy its many advantages. Specific
information about various aspects of the program are available through a
link at the bottom of this page.
Purpose:
In order to help meet the United Nations's manifest for environmentally
sound peace, personal growth and social justice, Project NatureConnect's
GWSG has established itself as a student/faculty cooperative. Its purpose
is to research, develop and make readily available a nature connected psychology,
a missing link in our thinking that uniquely enables people to further the
United Nations manifest.
GWSG facilitates the individual learning process of those in the group
who desire to master Webstring Science and the Natural
Systems Thinking Process (NSTP) by completing Masters and Doctoral
Degrees in Applied Ecopsychology and Integrated Ecology at Greenwich University.
GWSG provides a low cost foundation for the propagation of NSTP into the
mainstream of global society.
Objectives:
In order to fulfill its purpose, the GWSG:
- negotiated stable, long term, financial terms with Greenwich University
for members of GWSG
|
- provides financial support for individual students who have requested
assistance by providing income producing work study opportunities that
also act as accredited internships for degree program courses. The objective
here is to provide funds collectively and cooperatively to make the group
and its members self-sustaining while increasing in size and excellence.
|
- seeks start-up and long term financial support to fund work study
and financial assistance to its members
|
- established an open communication process that allow each member
and all GWSG Committees interactive access to information about the whole
group and its functioning through email systems and sites on the World
Wide Web;
|
- supports the group's administrative needs with the help of senior members
who have had prior experience with the degree process. As beginning members
gain experience, those interested become the next generation of mentors
for people entering the program and as faculty for the program at Greenwich
University.
|
- utilizes a proven, cooperative, interactive distance learning process
established by Institute of Global Education the 501(c)(3) parent organization
of Project NatureConnect and GWSG. This process provides each student with
peer support and feedback in a way that facilitates a deeper working knowledge
of NSTP in theory and action;-
|
- empowers mid-career professionals who master the NSTP through
the GWSG to move into their communities and share their skills in nature
connected education and psychology to benefit others;
|
- documents the effects on the individual health and well-being of those
individuals who embrace the NSTP science as a therapy, teaching, or living
philosophy. This collected information will provide a basis for others
to build more definitive research projects that can give the NSTP a wider
acceptance and understanding.
|
- serves as a model of a self-generating, self-evolving, self-organizing
nature supported social entity. Its success will demonstrate the effectiveness
of NSTP as an organizing process that can be used by any group or organization.
|
|
The GWSG and NSTP are founded on the following
principles:
- human beings are part of the web of life here on Earth and are therefore
most well adapted when they consciously maintain their connections to that
web.
|
- conscious connections to the web of life are registered by the senses.
|
- maximal sensory awareness and development is paramount for a self-sustaining,
happy life
|
- each individual serves a beneficial purpose within the web of life
and by using the NSTP they can make deeper connections with that purpose
and fulfill it more completely.
|
- when humans as individuals and groups understand the nature of nature
they make choices that are optimal for themselves and the global life community.
|
- the web of life is based on optimizing the balance of attractions within
itself, this brings about a state of wholeness and optimal diversity that
is non-polluting and non-violent.
|
- maintaining a state of balanced attraction relationships between humans
and nature enables people to further express love of each other and the
environment, thereby improving both.

Five Basics of the Natural Systems Thinking
Process:
|
1. The purpose and process of nature over the eons is to support
life in balance and in this regard there are no known substitutes for the
real thing.
2. When we provide social or financial rewards for nature-disconnecting
stories we become psychologically bonded to these stories and their destructive
effects.
3. Things that experience this imbalance suffer.
4. Continuing thoughtful, shared, sensory contacts with webstring attractions
in natural areas reconnect our thinking with nature's ways to help reverse
bonded imbalance and its discontents.
5. When people think in consent and connection with webstrings they experience
a global consciousness that leads to unity at every level of endeavor. |
