Creating moments that let Earth teach.....I created many moments this last week, and thanks to my journal I can keep much of it in mind.
" I sense and feel, therefor I am". I was taking a walk on a cement path, and was attracted to a dirt path off to the side. My dog was very happy and scampered into the weeds. This path ran along the river and to the river. It was also near a noisy road. I found myself attaracted to a sandy beach with rocks, and I loved the color and sound of the water. I had been feeling tired, and was beginning to feel refreshed. I asked the beach and water if I could spend time with her. I felt at ease. My thoughts soon became distacted by the sound of traffic, and the area did not feel so wild to me. I became discontented. The beach felt 'trashed" and unappreciated. I sent love to her and my full appreciation for her beauty. I told her I would come back when I had more time. I find I get distacted by man made things. They take me out of my sensory experience. Can I trust my senses? I am beginning to get a sense of trust for what I feel while in a natural system....
This leads me to wondering about my word choices. If I think I don't feel connected, then I for sure, will not. I have to open to a shifting of my perceptions. I don't want to just "say" I am ONE with nature, without a sensory experience of that. On sat. I was riding my horse in a wide canyon in New Mexico. The rock formations, colors and shapes had me enthralled. My horse felt strong and wild and she wanted to run a lot. Everything seemed magnified. ..reds, blues, lava looking rocks. I felt attracted to everything I saw. I felt a sense of celebration. "What is a "sensory truth", kept coming to my mind. Why do I have the attractions that I have? What do they say about me? I'm getting I just have to feel and sense! That is ALL.
How do I change my perceptions, really,?? HOw can I sit under this tree and not think "tree"? I love this spot on my land and always have. It is in a little gully and there is this tree on a grassy patch. It feels safe and protected and soft. I just allowed myself to relax there for a bit. And then i did chapt. 3 exercise. I asked the question who was i without my labels....where was i without labels...a poem came....
