"Walking to where field meets the woods, I find my first natural attraction, a nature connection to a large thicket of honeysuckle blossoms. I spend a few moments in stillness asking for permission/consent for my body mind and spirit to share and learn from this beautiful place. With inner stillness and eyes closed, the sense of bird calls and songs are all around, my own presence and gravity is brought to mind. Edges in nature or places where there is a contrast in habitat, openness, or space have always attracted my soul.
The honeysuckle smell attracts me again and I reach out to touch the thicket and feel for the blossoms guiding my nose to the strength of smell. Now with my eyes open the green with white and yellow blossoms gracefully stretch out to sun. I lie down on my back and look up through textures of leaves on other trees and plants showing me of diversity in harmony. I feel the warm grass on my back and watch the motion of clouds/moisture being pushed by the wind in the sky as with flowing water in a river pulled by gravity.
From all my natural attractions in this place I sense that each diverse part of nature knows something special about life so that collectively the web of life is an intercommunicating super intelligence attraction or love, a global brain. This science of peace seems to ring loudest of what I am learning through nature's intelligence in this place now. My consciousness is shaping a thought from all this natural information and teaching; that is to incorporate all natural intelligence into each moment in being, and particularly in sharing with people.
Emotion and remembering are flowing strong now in synthesis
with this natural intelligence to continue the teaching as if a grip is on
me. I remember how I would seek refuge at the edge of a large field and woods when I was a boy---refuge from my mother and her drinking, and physical abuse to me. I didn't know then why she was like a light
switch-one moment off and the other on, in rage at me. I know now, she was raped when she was ten by her uncle and never told anyone until myself only a few years before her crossing over."By education most have been misled; so they believe, because they so were bred.

I am reminded of the lie that still too often comes to mind, that I live on the surface of Planet Earth, not ten miles deep in its live-sustaining plant animal and and mineral community. I admit that I have saved myself in the natural world, as this is my safest sanctuary. But, I see how I have also set most people apart from this sanctuary for my own protection. I have reached out to many hundreds of people in nature education over the past 17 years but there has always been a holding back in me from sharing my most sacred sanctuaries in nature. The natural intelligences this course helps me discover are showing me-educating me that a bridge of safety is there to share. I do want to cross it.
